Message from Vice Chairman
Improving Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management
As the Vice Chairman of APLF and Chairman of China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing, I would like to congratulate on the establishing of website of APLF.
The Asia-Pacific Logistics Federation (APLF) is a non-profit organization formed by related logistics organizations in countries of the Asia-Pacific region. APLF serves as various activities in which members may meet and interact with one another to achieve the goal creating better, more efficient logistics and supply chain systems and to contribute of the greater development of the Asian-Pacific and the world economy.
Recently, the 7th summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 2004, and China, Japan and south Korea (10+3), Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao specifically proposed to study feasibility of East Asian Free Trade Area; to promote logistics cooperation mechanisms; and to gradually expand facilitation measures for promoting trade. Each country has launched the bilateral economic cooperation among regional economic cooperation in order to improve the industry competitive. The leaders of China, Japan and south Korea also signed the Joint Declaration on the Promotion of Tripartite Cooperation on Oct. 7, 2003. China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing is established under the new situation of rapid development of China's logistics. China would like to strength the exchange and cooperation in the logistics and supply chain fields of Asia-Pacific positively.
APLF will constantly enforce the communication and cooperation with logistics circles of Asia-Pacific so that we could share the new opportunities in the development of Asia-Pacific and world economy. Let us join to contribute for the development on logistics and supply chain managements both in Asia-Pacific and all over the world.
